Maggie Sullivan serves as Executive Director and primary Grant Writer for Health Care Coalition of Southern Oregon. She came to the Organization in 2012, and under her leadership the Coalition has increased its staffing and added several new projects. These include a Health Equity Coalition and a Preconception Health Project.
Previously Maggie worked as Education Program Manager for Planned Parenthood of Southern Oregon, where she was involved in community education programs including Teen Theater, Youth Action Research, Community Based Participatory Research, advocacy work for comprehensive sexuality education, and professional training.
She has a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor’s Degree in English & French from the University of Notre Dame. Her community service includes service as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA).
Maggie’s introduction to public health came as a Peace Corps volunteer, living and working in Central Africa. It was an eye-opening experience that led her to choose public health as her career path, and ignited her passion for health equity.
She loves to camp, hike, bike, swim in Oregon lakes and rivers, watch soccer games, salsa dance, and listen to eclectic world beat music.
Lee Ann Grogan joined Health Care Coalition of Southern Oregon in Fall of 2017 to manage the Healthy Start program across Douglas and Josephine County. Lee Ann brings a wealth of experience of working with and supporting children and families in many capacities.
She has been living and working across Southern Oregon since 2007, when she relocated to serve in the AmeriCorps VISTA program. This experience was life-changing and set the course for Lee Ann to dedicate her work in public service to support children and families of marginalized groups. Lee Ann has remained in Oregon to attend graduate school and has worked in education and mental health settings throughout her career.
Lee Ann holds graduate degrees in both Mental Health Counseling and Education from Southern Oregon University and a bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Hendrix College, located in her home state of Arkansas. When she is not at work, Lee Ann loves to be outside and enjoying nature with her dog, Sweet Rosie.
Jenna Sather-Hubbard is the program assistant for the Health Care Coalition of Southern Oregon. She is a current student at Southern Oregon University working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Administration with a concentration in Community Public Health. She plans to graduate in Spring of 2019 and use her education to work towards improving health outcomes for at-risk or disenfranchised communities throughout the Rogue Valley. She has over 7 years of experience as an administrative assistant and project manager, and is excited to use her strong organizational skills in support of HCCSO’s important mission of advocating for health equity.
Jenna’s coursework so far has focused on community health, nutrition, and physical education: she is passionate about emphasizing prevention of chronic disease through education and access to health services and screenings. As a mother of four young children, Jenna has first-hand experience receiving services from several community health partners such as La Clinica and WIC, as well. She is grateful for the opportunity to work with HCCSO to advance health equity in the Rogue Valley, learn more about addressing the larger causes of community health inequity, and see how local policies and programs can advance this vital mission.
